Cuban Basics [3/2 Clave]
The following "Cuban basics" are designed for you to "memorize" as they are the integral Left hand/Right hand combinations you'll require to play in this style of music.
Be aware that these are 2 bar patterns, so play each pattern four times before moving to the next without stopping. Start slowly and don't worry about the accents until after you have it memorized.
The "Revolution" stick was designed to give the drummer and "Timbalero" a firmer grip on the holding side of the stick and a brighter tone for the "cascara" sound on the shell of the drum or timbale.
Every drummer should own three model cowbells: Bongo, Timbale and Cha-Cha bells. Another standard item to own is the "jam block" where you'll be executing the "clave" pattern. For the following patterns you'll be using the Jam Block, the Timbale and Bongo bells. Enjoy it!

Cuban Basics [2/3 Clave]
These are the "Cuban basics" in the 2-3 Clave, which is basically trading the places of the bars. It is crucial that you learn and memorize playing on both "claves" because the music calls for you to be prepared to execute either pattern with ease. Good luck!
